Prada in China
It is at a magnificent palace of the early twentieth century in the heart of Shanghai, the Rong Zhai, that the brand has set its sights. Designed to serve as a nerve center for its various activities in China, the building dating from 1918 has been fully restored by the luxury house through a partnership with the city owner.
Prada in the world
Known for having signed many Prada boutiques around the world, it is the Italian architect Roberto Baciocchi who oversaw the renovation with the desire to restore the past splendor of this place full of history. Inaugurated on October 12 with the 2018 Cruise Collection Parade, the venue has been open to the public for about a month since October 17.
This is not the first time that the creator Miuccia Prada and her husband, Patrizio Bertelli, engage in major projects. They did it in Milan, among others, by entrusting to Rem Koolhaas the rehabilitation of an old distillery to house the now famous Prada Foundation opened since 2015.
